Lava Essentials

Dried Organic Calendula & Comfrey

Infuse your own herbs at home to make herbal oil! This is an exclusive item and will not be habitually available.

Approximately .5 ounces of dried organic Calendula flowers and Comfrey leaves. Does not include oil, jar, etc.

1. Put herbs in a 16 ounce glass jar.
2. Pour in approximately 10-12 ounces of carrier oil of choice. Oil should fully cover the dried herbs in your container.
3. Secure lid and mark with start date and expiration date of carrier oil used.
4. Allow to soak for 3-6 weeks. Some choose to set jar in a window sill to sun soak, while others prefer to store in a cabinet. Gently “shake” contents daily.
5. Once it’s ready, line a bowl with a muslin cloth/cheesecloth (you can put a strainer under the cloth as well), pour the contents of the jar into the cloth and let the oil seep through. Squeeze the bottom of the cloth, trying to get out as much oil as you can.
6. Pour oil in to a glass container. We prefer an amber dropper bottle, but a jar or other glass bottle is great too.

Recommended stable carrier oils: organic & cold pressed olive oil, safflower, sunflower or palm kernel. Also grapeseed and almond oil are popular choices.
Use your oil to make soap, salves, body oils, body butters or as a base for essential oil blends!

Benefits of Calendula:
Calendula has a rich yellow and orange color, and contains flavonoids and linoleic acid which both help fight inflammation. Calendula is great for scrapes, burns, bruises, insect bites, minor skin infections and more thanks to its ability to stimulate tissue and collagen production and having antiseptic and anti-fungal properties.

Benefits of Comfrey:
Comfrey is a great source of allantoin, a natural compound known for its moisturizing and softening abilities. Allantoin has soothing, firming and tightening properties. Comfrey’s also has high tannin content which is anti-inflammatory and astringent.

Dried Organic Calendula & Comfrey - Lava Essential Oils

Dried Organic Calendula & Comfrey

  • Hypoallergenic + Care Info

All of our chains are considered hypoallergenic as most individuals can wear without worry of an allergic reaction. Our gold chains are made of high quality Gold Filled metal and never plated, so your necklace looks and feels similar to pure gold but without the hefty price tag. Likewise, our silver chains are also never plated but rather .925 Sterling Silver.

Gold filled is made by using heat and pressure to create a substantial solid bonded layer of karat gold to a metal base. The minimum layer of karat gold must equal at least 1/20 of the total weight of the item. Gold filled acts very similar to pure gold but can also be stronger as pure gold such as 24K is very soft and malleable. Gold filled will not tarnish when worn and stored properly! Learn More

Sterling silver is an alloy containing at least 92.5% silver. Most people can safely wear sterling silver. Sterling silver does not contain nickel, but we do not recommend if you are allergic to silver or copper.

Stainless steel is generally considered hypoallergenic, though it may contain trace amounts of nickel and therefore not recommended for individuals with a high sensitivity to nickel. Stainless steel is also non-corrosive and tarnish resistant.

*If you are sensitive to copper, we do not recommend rose gold.

General care guidelines for any and all jewelry:
Always remember: “Last on, first off!” when putting on or taking off your jewelry for the day. You'll want to avoid wearing jewelry while showering, sleeping, swimming, and exercising. Jewelry is happiest when stored in a dry environment.

Though Gold Filled metals are essentially tarnish resistant when cared for properly, other metals such as Sterling Silver, Brass or even electroplated metals can naturally oxidize due to their chemical composition, but proper care can minimize the process. After every use, gently wipe your Sterling, Brass or plated jewelry with a cotton ball or very soft cloth to remove any dust, dirt or natural oils from your skin. This will help maintain or restore it’s shine. Avoid harsh soaps or cleaning detergents. If your jewelry needs to be cleaned use a mild soap and warm water to gently wash the metal components.
